Think of me as a hub offering production support from individual line producing to full production services. 

I excel in aspirational frugality, AKA stretching a dollar while maintaining high quality production value.  

I'm a straight shooting, task-mastering, procedural decision maker, who leans towards the creative with a touch of scrappy-doo. 

I run a tight, well oiled, high bar, smooth as silk production where we make our day, come in on budget, and all walk away happy. 

All project needs are different depending on the scope, client, and budget. The range of producing experience of Big Syd runs the gamut, from low budget documentary run and gun shoots to larger scope scripted projects with big budgets. Why the name Big Syd?
Simple. Since my earliest days, I've been in charge. 

First Born. Oldest Daughter.  Working mom. Type A. Organization-obsessed. Breast cancer survivor with a weakness for teen melodramatic TV (love triangle? Yes please). Drawn to problem solving, I suppose. 

Raised in Vermont. Chicago was home for decades. Now based in Northampton, MA. New England upbringing, Midwest backbone—street smart, salt-of-the-earth, no-nonsense. I work hard, earn trust, and manage big personalities without ego.

I studied at DePaul University’s Theatre School and Columbia College Chicago, concentrating in Film and Video Production. With 20+ years in the industry, split between freelancing and staff roles including Line Producer at Big Deahl Productions and Head of Production at Tessa Films and Take Care Productions.

I came up the long way—starting at the bottom as a production assistant and working my way up. That kind of education builds a full-scope producer: organized, well rounded, compassionate, and unafraid to lead while working hard. Experience builds earned confidence and once its earned it comes naturally. In short, you can trust me-Ive got this.
